LLANAFAN CONCERT 17TH APRIL '15
Many thanks for your excellent performance last night, you held the audience literally spellbound, not just only by your song Tylwyth Teg !!
We all thoroughly enjoyed it, especially as your songs all had a Welsh or local flavour that many of us could identify with. We shall ask you to return to Llanafan where we are quite used to having live music and performances, but not of this genre. Next time I shall bring along a bottle of wine as an accompaniment.
Diolch yn fawr iawn. Lewis Owen.

Hi Neil, I really enjoyed your performance at Llanafan Village Hall last night. I loved the localness of the songs. Great combination of instruments too.Hope you can do another session in Llanafan at some time. My favourite song was "The Given" and wondered if you had a recording of it or had plans to put it on another CD. Best wishes, Jane.

Cellar Bar Cardigan
"Like a beautiful sun-dappled reverie, the serene playing of sweet tunes by Brening lulled the audience into an appreciative daydream.
Yet this was no absent-minded abstraction as every song had a story to tell, every song had each member of the audience thoroughly engrossed.
And for each of those magical minutes that comprised Brenig's performance a timeless hush descended upon The Cellar Bar; broken only by the warm applause that rippled around the room at the end of each song.
An utterly absorbing gig from a band who are heartily recommended. "

Dylan - Art Centre Aberystwth 22/1/2015
Just to say again how much Brenda & I enjoyed your performance last night (all the band). You have some nice songs - I've always liked the 'love spoon' song - now I can add to that the Valeriane Leblond one - lovely simple lyrics & very visually evocative.
Also the last song of the night was very beautiful. Daniel's solo one inspired by Aneurin was really nice - love his picked guitar on this - almost made me want to be Welsh (instead of from Norf Lundun) & born somewhere near Tregaron! (well almost!)
I thought your violin (and viola - nice to hear one of these) is now really integrated into the music. The band has a nice sound - Mandy's mandolin chimes along nicely & brightens & adds a lightness. job to keep people listening for a lengthy set in a confined space - but you achieved it.

Audrey wrote: "love this group every one should go and see them"

Allison Felton said:
"This was a wonderful evening's entertainment: a real opportunity to hear this group, which to quote my (very envious husband who could not be there!) are "long-standing and famous". Would have been brilliant had CDs been available on the night. Also, great to hear new talent. Thank you all for a really memorable event!

"Just to say - enjoyed your performance at RhosyGilwen last Thursday. Wanted to hear more from you especially as you had traveled a fair distance to be there. Maybe next time, that's if you are free to come along again on October 17th. Good luck with the CD and future success".

Welsh Online Folk magazine (Mari Lloyd) CD  review:
Brenig’s repertoire differs from the standard Welsh tradition; in fact, the trio could be mistaken for a band from the other side of The Pond. Daniel and Mandy sing in unison to simple country-influenced themes and melodies, and the violin provides an extra voice. Daniel writes about Welsh events that has influenced him – The Enid Eleanor, the last Aberystwyth-built ship; the Rebecca riots, sparked by tollgate taxes imposed by the English owners; the Six Bells colliery disaster; the farmhouse that  appears to rise up out of the gigantic Llyn Brianne reservoir; Jemima  Fawr and her Welsh-hatted women putting to rout the last French ‘invasion’ near Fishguard; and the story of his grandfather’s life before and after the First World War.

ANEURIN JONES WELSH ARTIST SAID:
"Thank you for a most inspiring evening at Aberystwyth Arts Centre. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole set and am touched that such a talented trio are inspired by my work".

MIKE: @ The Tafarn Dwynant Concert
Excellent group- another polished and well prepared performance. The shows get better and better with new numbers all composed by Daniel now bringing true stories, love tales and humour to the evening. As each event goes by they are more relaxed and this makes for a good evening. When does the 2nd CD appear ?

"Thanks for the wonderful performance at the Llwyn Yr Eos School/Penparcau Community Forum Summer Fayre. So many positive comments. Every one enjoyed the songs and music .Pat Bates."
